ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Academic Qualification

1. The minimum eligibility criteria is that a graduate should have at least 60% and above from University/College.

2. Graduated degree should be completed within the time period and should not have any year gap.

3. Example – BE/BTech – It is a 4-year program and the student should complete the degree within 4 years and not more.

4. Canadian Universities accepts upto 10 backlog history in their career.


STAY BACK OPTION IN CANADA

· Minimum educational duration of 8 months is required for a student to be eligible in Canada to get a Stay back.

· Courses less than 8 months doesn’t allow any Stay Back and Work Permit

· If a student pursues a course of less than 2 years, he/she would be eligible for post study work Visa which is equivalent duration of the course.

Example: 1 year course = 1 year Post Study Work Visa

· If a student prefers a 2-year course, then he/she would be eligible for a post study work visa of 3 years.

Example: 2 year’s Masters/Diploma course = 3 year Post Study Work Visa


INTAKES IN CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES/ COLLEGES


Canadian Universities and colleges offer 3 Intake

Fall Intake – It is the September Intake, which is preferred by most of the students.

Winter Intake – This intake starts on January

Summer Intake – It is on April and May. Only few Universities and Colleges in Canada would be opened for a Summer Intake.


COST OF STUDYING IN CANADA


Tuition fees in Canada is generally affordable than other countries. Technical and Medical courses are expensive than Arts courses.

Tuition fee ranges between CAD 7000 to CAD 35,000 per annum for international students.

Undergraduate Program $13,000 to $20,000 per annum

Postgraduate Program $17,000 to $25,000

Doctoral degree $7,000 to $15,000

WORK AUTHORISATION FOR STUDENTS


Students applying for Canada, have few criteria’s which is mandatorily required to obtain a Post study work visa.


· Students must be of 18 years and above.

· International students can work part time on campus or off campus upto 20 hours per week. And can work full time during holidays.

· Students who choose a course that requires work experience such as an internship program or a Co- Op


Spouse Visa

Spouses are given the same rights as the Student in Canada. If the student in Canada has the right to work, then the spouse who accompany the student will have the same right to work.


SCHOLARSHIPS IN CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES 2021 FOR INDIAN STUDENTS

Student can apply for scholarships for their education degree such as Bachelors, Masters, PhD from Canadian Universities.


UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: 1. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships

This scholarship is offered by the University of Toronto to the international students who have exceptional academic records in their school. The scholarship covers tuition fee, books and living cost for their entire degree duration.


2. Calgary International Entrance Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded to international students with outstanding accomplishments at the University of Calgary. This covers the four year undergraduate program Tuition fee.


3. Winnipeg President’s Scholarships for World Leaders

It is offered to international students who enters the University division for the first time. This scholarship ranges between $3,500 – $5,000


4. York University International Student Scholarship Program

Those students who have entered in the University of York with excellent academic record will be awarded with this scholarship which ranges between $60,000 – $100,000 for a four year Under graduate degree.


POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

1. University of Calgary Graduate Awards

Scholarship ranges between $1,000 to $35,000 which also covers different field of studies. This scholarship is offered by the university of Calgary which offers a full and partial scholarship for international students.


2. University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships

This is a fellowship which is offered to students pursuing their education (Master’s / PhD) at the University of Manitoba. For Master’s student they offer $14,000 for 1 year course duration and for PhD it is valued upto $18,000. This is a Merit based award provided to students who are registered as a full time graduate.


3. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded to students who purse their doctoral degree in any of the Canadian Universities. The scholarship is worth $50,000 per year for a couple of three years.


4. University of Waterloo Master’s Awards of Excellence

The International Master’s Award of Excellence is awarded to international students who study a research based graduate program at University of Waterloo. They will be awarded upto $2,500 per term and validity upto five terms.


MINIMUM IELTS SCORE REQUIRED FOR CANADA STUDY VISA


As Canada is an English-speaking country, most of the Top-Ranking universities in Canada require IELTS. This is the way that they analyse non-English speakers who wish to study in Canada.

Student should attempt the Academic IELTS which would help you to get into Canadian universities.


The required IELTS score for,

Bachelors/ Diploma/ Certificate Courses is - 6.5 Overall and no band less than 6.

Post Graduate/ Master’s Program - 6.5 Overall and no band less than 6.
