The well-being of our students and staff is of the utmost importance for us in a situation like this.
Seger is closely monitoring the local conditions and government of the UK.
Study in UK and Coronavirus Updates.
If you are traveling to the UK, you should have a negative Covid 19 test result before you are allowed to commence travel.
You must take a test even if:
You’re a UK Citizen
You’re already had the COVID 19 vaccine
You must take the test in 3 days before your travel on which you will arrive in the UK.
Proof of a Negative Test Result should be Provided.
Your test result can be provided as:
A printed copy of documents
An email from your phone.
What to do if you don’t have the proof of the Negative Test
If you don’t have the proof of a Covid Negative test result you won’t be able to take your transport to the UK.
If you arrive in the UK without the proof, you have tested negative then you would be charged £500 as a fine.
How to take a test during the Journey to the UK
If your journey to the UK is long and will involve a halt in another country on the way, you got to take a test in the country you’re traveling across. This is so you take the test in the 3 days before you board the final service to the UK
Test providers and type of test
You will need to find a test provider. You must make sure that the test supplier can meet the levels for pre-departure testing. The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, and ≥80% sensitivity.
This could include tests such as:
The student should take a nucleic acid test, along with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests, an antigen test.
It’s your responsibility to ensure the test meets the minimum standards for acuteness, precision. You must also make sure to check with your test provider that it meets those standards.
Quarantine Measurements at Arrival in the UK
Every person is subjected to self-isolation ('quarantine') rules at the time of arrival in the UK. Having a negative Covid-19 test result will not remove the requirement to self-isolate ('quarantine') on arrival. Upon arrival in the UK, you will have to provide details of your location or accommodation in the UK. There are some exemptions from self-isolation but students, as a group/mass, are not excused. Every person who lands in the UK must take one or more Covid tests after they arrive.
There is no end date yet for these courses of action. It is very important that you contact your education consultant before you decide to fly to the UK. It is to check what support you will acquire during these first days, including accommodation, daily bread, online provision for induction, orientation, meeting tutors and other students, and other requirements. Universities, colleges, and schools will help you during this time so it's a key point that they know what you would plan to do and where you will be staying.
Quarantine Hotel
'Quarantine hotel' is Hotels with Isolation Facility for travelers who move to the UK as of 15 February 2021. The key points include:
You need to Book a Quarantine package before your passenger Locator Form(PLF) and then board your journey to the UK.
The duration of self-isolation in a quarantined hotel is 10 to 14 days from the day of arrival
The package includes the costs of transport from your arrival to the preferred hotel, food, accommodation, security, and testing.
The cost per day for a hotel quarantine package for 1 adult in 1 room for 10 days is £1710.
Vaccination Update in the UK
The Covid 19 Vaccine has rolled out in the UK and it has been better in effect to the European and other countries in the world. The UK is one of the first countries in the world to be fully vaccinated by summer 2021. So for students who enter for a September 2021 Intake would be safe.
International and the EU students in the UK will be able to access the various vaccinations rolled out in the UK, which means they will receive the vaccine much faster than their home country and can return back safe to their Home.
Applications for September 2021 Intake
For the students who are making their applications for the September 2021 Intake, the UK Universities are processing International UCAS applications as normal and they are willing to provide the traditional model of education rather than online education.
University Precautions to the Upcoming Students 2021
